Once again a major league baseball team over spends on a player that they probably could have signed for almost nothing. Giving Barry Bonds 16 million dollars is the stupidest thing I have ever seen a pro team do. Remember I have witnessed the New York Knicks blunders as well.

Lets take a look here from the outside looking in and see if we can figure out what they are thinking. Lets say I am the Giants GM am I thinking that we need a old outfielder that only hit 20 something homeruns last year. Ok he was hurt but he was absolutely horrible swinging at pitches last year. You could see the bat speed slowing down. At this price he will average a little under 1 million dollars per homerun. That is just sick.

Did the GM think he was going to sign with another team? I didn’t see any teams asking for Barry’s agents phone number. Not one team outside the bay area was thinking about Barry Bonds as they all have scouts that know he is done. He may be a gate attraction for one week IF he gets close to Hank’s homerun record.

I just don’t understand why a team would give this guy 1 million to play baseball for a year never mind 16 million. How much is a beer and hot dog in the stadium $100 each.

A little late since we already played a game on Thursday with the Steelers beating the Cleveland Browns.

Lets see how I am going to do this week.
Oakland at Cincinatti is an easy one as there is no way the lowly raiders are going to travel across the country and actually win a game. Oakland is playing towards drafting a new QB Hmmm

Titans at Texans – This game is set up to be a let down for the Titans as they are going back to Houston where they should be heavily booed and after two big wins in a row over the Gianta and the Colts  I can see them losing to the Texans. I know big prediction huh.

Colts at Jacksonville – The Jags will exloit the lousy colts defense and win the game 21-14

Baltimore vs KC It is always tough to play in KC but I think the Ravens will overcome this and win a tight one with Defense.

New England vs Miami – Patriots should win this handily.

Buffalo at the Jets – Normally I would pick Buffalo in this spot but they are too banged up and I hate to say it the Jets are playing good ball. So the Jets it is.

Giants at Carolina – The NY media has been all over the Giants with the whole Tiki quiting on the team and other BS but with Carolina starting the backup QB the giants will be all over him and win the game on defensive turnovers.

New Orleans at Dallas – A game that means something to both teams. I think Dallas will win as Parcells knows what Sean Payton will be thinking as he is from Bills upbringing. You can’t beat the master at his own game. Dallas 28 – Saints 21

Vikings at Detroit – Vikings are on a downfall and Detroit will win if anyone really cares is another question.

Atlanta at Tampa – Atlanta ran for over 300 yards in the last meeting I dont see that being hard to do again. I think John Abraham will have a good game against the QB that is easy target to hit.

Philly at Redskins – Philly needs the game the Redskins don’t so there ya have it Philly will win.

Denver at SD – The super chargers will win easily as the rookie QB for the Broncos isnt much better than Plummer at this point. LT will have a good game.

Seattle at arizona – I am picking the Card s here just because I can

Greeen Bay at SF – I am liking the 49ers as of late as they are over the rebuilding phase. SF will win as they will break down a lousy GB defense.

There you have it.
